Water cooler news: I don't really work in an office with a water cooler but we have a popular table with a small gold plaque on the rim which says "Kenny's Table".  Every now and again someone will ask what they have to do to get their name on a table. Unfortunately, you have to die.

March Madness is here and we have 2 teams going to the dance. Gonzaga is ranked #7 in the Midwest bracket, but if you ask Lees, a very tall and skinny septuagenarian with a full head of white hair he will tell you they will lose in the first round. According to him they have been playing really bad and he knows why, but he can't tell me. It is all very cloak and dagger.

Then we have the WSU Cougars ranked #4 in the East bracket. Coach Tony Bennett, not the singing Tony Bennett is at the helm of this team and he is really hot. You should check him out.

The whole town is filled with pride while filling out their brackets, but not for gambling purposes.

Last weekend we celebrated my youngest sons birthday in N. Idaho at a place called Raptor Reef, an inside water park. While the kids and my husband were waiting in this crazy long line to go down the big toilet bowl slide I saw a man in the deep end of the wave pool have a heart attack. Well, it turns out he wasn't having a heart attack, but an asthma attack.

The head lifeguard who was about 19 years old and  looked like he was straight out of first aid class handled the situation beautifully. I was impressed by his grace and skill. That and the guys wife came running with an inhaler.

On the way home we had to stop at Cabelas. The boys were really happy to hear that. It's like a mini destination place for outdoor lovers. While my husband was shopping we went to the shooting gallery. It is so cool with all the targets including a growling bear, slithering snake, breaking windows and a whole slew of other exciting targets.

The place was starting to get busy and the shooting range was filling up. A young mom came up in between my son and his friend to take her turn. She hiked up her daughter on her right hip and picked up the rifle with her left hand, shut one eye then started shoting. This modern day Annie Oakley was shooting up the range. All jaws dropped at this cowgirls rifle skills. Welcome to the wild west JU!

In May there is an annual women helping women luncheon I would love to attend. Each year they have an exciting key note speaker who embraces the spirit of women helping women. This year's speaker is Jeanette Walls, author of, "The Glass Castle". I haven't read the book yet, but I'm told it is very good and will strike a chord with anyone growing up in similar circumstances.

Finally, this Easter we are going to have a picnic at the land we just bought. It is our little slice of heaven and we can't wait for the "someday" when we can build. Here is the view from the top of our lot

I don't know anything about the sporting teams you speak of but I get the sense you're excited they're doing well. I hope they continue to do so.

Raptor Reef sounds like a lot of fun. Is it also a reptile or bird sanctuary? I am asking as I'm wondering where the 'Raptor' part of the name has to do with the park.

I can't get over just how blase you are about guns. It is one major difference between America and Australia. The gun culture here is pretty small by comparison and we certainly don't have anything even remotely like you described at Cabelas. I'd love to see all the different targets.

I have to say the piece of dirt your family recently purchased is absolutely beautiful. Are you planning on building up where you took the photo? It looks, as you rightly say, like a slice of heaven.

Hope you and yours have a wonderful Easter break.

Dont worry, neither do I.

Actually I do know a little. Gonzaga is the school that everyone laughs at the name, and they do well each year (or so it seems).

Your little slice of heaven looks a lot like the Shenandoah valley as well. Good luck on your picnic! And thanks for the wild west shoot out!

These are two college basketball teams in the area. It is their champiojnship season time.

It is an inside water park, bowling alley, laser tag and arcade. It is busy this time of year because it's inside and the weather is still pretty yucky here. In the summer they have outside stuff too. The only thing it really has to do with dinasaurs is the theme. It's a little amusement park.

I can't get over just how blase you are about guns.

Well, I'm not really. These aren't really rifles. It is those laser guns and old fashioned wild west shooting gallery. I know they are still guns but this is the only place we really do it. We don't really hunt. We are fishermen in our family. Catch and release mostly. There is a lot of hunting done up here.

We are planning to  build there eventually. Even though we won't be able to build and live there just yet we plan on spending most of summer weekends there. I took the picture on the spot we plan on putting the house. Good to see you Maso.

Haha.. that is so true.

Well, it must be beautiful there. See where the little river is? Well, behind that mountain is a Lake roosevelt. It is huge and that's mostly where my husband is!

What's with the big words woman?

sep·tu·a·ge·nar·i·an       (sěp'tōō-ə-jə-nâr'ē-ən, -tyōō-, -chōō-)  Pronunciation Key
n.   A person who is 70 years old or between the ages of 70 and 80.

adj.
  1. Being 70 years old or between the ages of 70 and 80.
  2. Of or relating to a septuagenarian.

You know I looked it up.  hahahaha

Your house place is beautiful.  Can't wait to visit you there one day!

The gun thing made me laugh out loud.  My husband's side of the family is very gun oriented.  Gavin has two bb guns and will graduate to a .22 when he's ten.  It's like a family tradition or something.

I do love to target shoot.  My all time best was with an AK-47 I borrowed from a member in the family.  When I was in the military we shot M-16's and I could never site mine in very well...I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn!

The AK is also an assault rifle, but imo, the better of the two.  My shooting pattern was much tighter.

Of course since I like to shoot targets, my husband grumps I am scaring all the wild life away.  (He thinks I don't know this?)  buwhahahaha

My oldest likes to shoot...on Halo.

Not a big sports fan.  Though sporting events were the first reality tv weren't they?  haha.

Glad to hear things are rocking along.

Happy Easter Sister.

O.K. I don't know if I should be impressed or scared! That is awesome, I think I will be impressed.

That was one of those ten dollar words and I just happened to have ten dollars!

Happy Easter Sister.

Kelly,

It is those laser guns and old fashioned wild west shooting gallery.

Ah, okay, now that I could really get into.  I like target shooting like this.  I'm not much into guns per se but this kind of shooting is fun.

We'll have to visit both the amusement park and the shooting gallery when we come over.

Okay...had to check out the coach...lol (I hope this is him). Nice looking guy!

Your land is beautiful, Kelly. I would probably want to take pictures of everything I see (it's cheesy...but I like taking scenery pics).

Thank you we love it. No, it's not cheesy. I probably have disc after disc of just lake shots. That picture was taken last summer, so I think there is still snow up there. I will know Sunday and take 100 more pictures!

InBloom: Yes! That's the coach. He makes basketball fun to watch!
